Who Are We?
Fez Art Residency is a collective of artists and cultural hosts based in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Fez Medina. Working together, we prioritise community, place-based creativity and career development, inspired by our surroundings and the connections we make.
We offer residencies and retreats shaped by collaboration, open to artists of all backgrounds, and firmly rooted in the city’s artisnal traditions while supporting the emerging contemporary scene.

What We Do
As a creative-led enterprise, we work with four flexible models designed to support artists, groups, and art organisations in building custom experiences that reflect with their goals, values and ways of working.
- Self-Funded ResidenciesFlexible, tailored retreats and residencies for artists who are self-funded or supported by grants. Optional add-ons include studio access, artisan workshops, mentorship, and cultural excursions. Pricing varies by accommodation and experience level.
- FAR-Funded ResidenciesOffered through initiatives like 8WEEKSinFEZ, these place-based residencies provide selected artists with fully-funded accommodation and space to explore, reflect, and create. They are designed to open up access, invite diversity, and spark cultural dialogue.
- Funded ResidenciesIn partnership with cultural institutions, arts organisations, and funding bodies, FAR supports externally funded residencies. These may cover accommodation, project costs, or curated experiences tied to a partner’s mission.
- Collaborative ResidenciesWant to host your own retreat? We co-create and co-host residencies and retreats with artists and organisations, helping them design creative experiences they can offer their communities, audiences, or supporters.

8 Weeks of fully-funded private accommodation right in the heart of Fez Medina
Over eight weeks in autumn 2025, we’ll be hosting a rotating group of Moroccan and international visual artists in two private apartments right in the heart of Fez Medina.
Whether two artists stay for eight weeks, sixteen artists for one week each, or something in between, the programme is flexible, and the structure is simple but powerful - a place to stay, no expectations, and a city that invites exploration and creativity.
